AvtoVAZ says to restart production on August 16 except Granta

MOSCOW, Aug 13 (PRIME) -- Russian car producer AvtoVAZ will resume operations on August 16 after a two-week vacation but Lada Granta will not be produced for at least one more week due to the lack of electronic components, the company said in a statement on Friday.

"The lack of electronic components produced by Bosch Samara continues to hurt the production schedule of the 5th line in Tolyatti (Granta), the line will be suspended for the entire workweek (August 16–19),” it said.

“Line 3 (Niva) will produce fewer cars from Monday to Thursday (August 16–19), line 1 (B0) will work for two days (August 18–19)."

The company added that 75% of the regular wage will be paid to the workers on the dead time.
